What does the QUICR measure?
The scale contains 16 questions that measure the unpredictability of early environments for infants and toddlers as reported by their caregivers. The scale provides both a total score reflecting the degree of unpredictability in the early psychosocial and resource environment as well as subscales measuring the degree of unpredictability in caregiving practices, resources, and caregiver(s’) emotions around their child. Please see forthcoming manuscript and questions below for further information about the scale and we welcome you to reach out to us!
What age range is validated for the QUICR?
We have validated the scale with caregivers of infants 0-5.0 years old in the United States. Validation with cohorts outside of the US is currently underway.
What is the test-retest reliability for the QUICR scale?
We’ve assessed test-retest reliability over ~4.5 months in our sample using Intraclass Correlation Coefficients (ICC).
Total QUICR Unpredictability scores demonstrate excellent reliability (ICC = 0.80).
Subscale test-retest reliability is as follows:
QUICR Caregiving Unpredictability scores demonstrate good reliability (ICC = 0.70)
QUICR Resource Unpredictability scores demonstrate good reliability (ICC = 0.72)
QUICR Emotional Unpredictability scores demonstrate good reliability (ICC = 0.73)
How do I credit the QUICR?
